SYDNEY, N.S. – Nova Scotia NDP MLA Gordie Gosse says he will be reducing his duties as he undergoes treatment for cancer.
Gosse says he was diagnosed with cancer late last week and while he’s nervous, he is determined to overcome it.

The member for Sydney-Whitney Pier says he will be required to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments and will be curtailing his work as a member as a result.

He says it’s his goal to return to the legislature in the fall and in the meantime, constituents will be able to rely on his staff.
Gosse was first elected in 2003 and served as Speaker from 2011 to 2013.
