MELFORT, Sask. – Human remains have been found on the bank of the Saskatchewan River north of Melfort. The discovery was made Thursday by a hunter.
Mounties say the remains were found about four kilometres west of the George Willis Bridge where Highway 6 crosses the river.

Investigators have determined the remains to be of a 49-year-old woman. Family members were able to identify personal items located at the scene.
The name of the victim has not been released.

RCMP say the death is not suspicious and an autopsy will not be required.
