Summary: A large, rural riding taking up all of B.C.’s northeastern quarter, this electoral district has historically supported right-wing parties.
Boundaries: All of northeastern B.C., including Prince George’s city centre. Also includes the communities of McBride and Valemount. Other major cities include Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
Last Election: Conservative MP Bob Zimmer defeated NDP candidate, former MLA Lois Boone, by 36.5 per cent, replacing longtime Conservative MP Jay Hill.

History: The area has elected right-wing candidates in every election since 1972, and every provincial election since 1953. Hill was the region’s MP from 1993 to 2011.
Demographics: 10.3 per cent of residents are of First Nations descent, the third highest number in British Columbia. Just seven per cent of people identified as immigrants, the lowest number in the province.
