Summary: This is one of just five seats the Conservatives won in 2011. MP and Minister of State Maxime Bernier was first elected here in 2006. He is seeking re-election for a fourth term, but history is not on his side. Voters here have not granted a sitting MP a fourth term since 1935 (Liberal Édouard Lacroix).
Boundaries: This riding is south of Quebec City. It includes Sainte-Marie, Beauceville, Saint-Georges and Saint-Martin.

Last Election: Maxime Bernier earned 50.7 per cent of the vote in 2011, to defeat the NDP’s Serge Bergeron, who earned 30.0 per cent.
History: Prior to Bernier’s win, this was a Liberal seat from 1997 to 2006. The Bloc Québécois has never won here, but was the second place finisher in every election from 1993 until 2008. Before 2011, the NDP had never finished higher than fourth.
