One man dead after fatal collision on Highway 39 northwest of Weyburn

WEYBURN, SK – One man is dead following a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 39 northwest of Weyburn Friday afternoon.

Police say emergency crews were called just before 2 p.m. after a Dodge pickup and a semi tractor-trailer unit collided head on.

The driver of the pickup was killed in the collision. Police are not releasing his identity until the family is notified.

Police say the driver of the semi received medical attention by EMS on scene but no treatment at hospital was required.

According to police, there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

The highway was closed throughout Friday but has since reopened.
