Summary: This central Manitoba riding has been an NDP stronghold since the 1970’s and has had the same MLA, Tom Nevakshonoff, since 1999. This election could see a rookie MLA take the position or Nevakshonoff re-elected for the fifth time.
Boundaries: Interlake riding lies in the central region of Manitoba and holds Lake Manitoba and sections of Lake Winnipeg. Lake Manitoba runs north/south on the west side of Interlake and Lake Winnipeg runs north/south on the east side. The riding holds the towns of Ashern, Arborg and Harperville.

Last Election: In 2011 NDP incumbent Tom Nevakshonoff was reelected with 3,374 votes, just over 50 per cent. The Progressives Conservative candidate, Steve Lupky, came close with 43 per cent and 2,903 votes.
