Manitoba Bisons linebacker DJ Lalama invited to New York Giants camp

WINNIPEG – David Onyemata won’t be the only Manitoba Bisons’ player attending an NFL camp.

Bisons linebacker DJ Lalama has been invited to attend mini-camp with the New York Giants.

Lalama, 22, won the Canada West Student Athlete Community Service Award last season. The Bisons co-captain had 36 total tackles in 2015, including 27 solo tackles. His 5.5 tackles for losses was tied for fifth in the conference and his 6.0 tackles per game ranked ninth in Canada West.

Lalama could also garner some interest in the upcoming CFL Draft. At a recent CFL combine Lalama ran the 40-yard dash in 4.818 seconds.

The Giants will hold a mini-camp for rookies next weekend.
