Phil Carpenter came to Global News in 2017 after working as a photojournalist and videojournalist at the Montreal Gazette for 13 years.
He also worked as a part-time visual journalism lecturer at Concordia University’s school of journalism in Montreal.
His over 30 years in journalism have led him to cover major news events at home and abroad, including the Haiti earthquake, post-genocide stories in Rwanda, U.S. President Barack Obama’s first inauguration, the Lac-Mégantic train disaster, hurricane and climate change devastation in Jamaica as well as Pope Francis’ visit to Canada.
Working at Global News is his first experience in TV journalism.
