SASKATOON – Cosmo Industries unveiled a space Friday for participants with unique needs.
Saskatoon’s mayor and other dignitaries were on hand to officially open the first phase of a $1.5 million renovation and expansion of Cosmo Industries.
A total of 5,000 square feet of warehouse space has been renovated into a welcoming, intimate program area for participants with autism or emotional and behavioural challenges.

“Seven years ago we had one individual that we had to develop a non-traditional program for because he so badly wanted to be a part of Cosmo but this environment didn’t work for him,” said Randine Graf, Cosmo program manager.

“So we developed the program and since then we now have 19 people that are wanting this program and requiring a program like this.”
The community enriched support program continues to evolve to meet the individualized support needs of adults with intellectual disabilities who seek non-traditional program options.
Cosmo provides day programs for 400 adults with intellectual disabilities.
