REGINA – The recent spike in H1N1 in Saskatchewan has the province urging everyone to get their flu vaccine, but the increase in demand is taking a toll on supply.
The province ordered 280,000 doses for this winter and the vaccine was distributed in October, however some medical clinics have already ran out of the vaccine.

The province says it’s in process of ordering more, but it’s difficult because it’s late in the season.
“It’s important for you to know that seasonal vaccine production has finished,” said Dr. Denise Werker, Saskatchewan’s deputy chief medical health officer. “There is a limited global supply. We’re working with all the province and the federal government to acquire whatever we can.”
