WATCH: Robyn Doolittle appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to talk about her new book Crazy Town, a chronicle of her investigation into Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

TORONTO – Toronto’s mayor was once again the topic of conversation on late night television.

Robyn Doolittle, the author of the new book, Crazy Town: The Rob Ford Story, was a guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Thursday night.

While discussing her investigation into Toronto’s embattled mayor, Doolittle mentioned Ford’s approval rating, to Stewart’s disbelief.

“His approval ratings show that he’s in the forties,” said Doolittle.

“Are you kidding me!” said a flabbergasted Stewart.

“But that’s not necessarily voter intention,” said Doolittle. “You have to see what the city does in October during the election.”

Stewart was amazed that Ford still manages to hold the title of mayor.

“So there’s rumours of domestic abuse, drugs, and absenteeism,” said Stewart.

“All the joking aside…this man is going to die, probably relatively soon, and I would think that the qualifying factor for Torontonians would almost not be the fact that your mayor is horribly impaired when an emergency arrives, but the fact that he refuses to get help,” he said.

Before the interview, the author and Toronto Star reporter said she was hoping to convey how great Toronto was in spite of the mayor’s controversies.
