Regina’s Tatiana Maslany wins at Critics Choice Awards

TORONTO — Saskatchewan’s Tatiana Maslany was named Best Actress in a Drama Series on Thursday night at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

Maslany was honoured for her work on the made-in-Toronto series Orphan Black.

She picked up the same award at last year’s ceremony.

Fargo, which was filmed in Alberta, was chosen Best Mini-Series and earned acting wins for Billy Bob Thornton and Allison Tolman

Other winners including Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Matthew McConaughey (for True Detective) and Allison Janney (for both Mom and Masters of Sex).

Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee and American Horror Story, accepted the Louis XIII Genius Award.

“Surround yourself with people who are more talented than you,” Murphy said, “and then take all the credit.”
