HAFFORD, Sask. – A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle west of Hafford, Sask. late Monday evening.
Mounties say Shaun Pete, 39, was walking westbound on Highway 40 just before midnight about 30 kilometres west of the community when he was struck by an SUV.

Pete, who is from the Richard District, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday in Saskatoon.

Three people in the SUV were not injured.
Police say no charges are pending against the driver.
