Longueuil fire forces dozens of seniors to evacuate

LONGUEUIL – A fire forced an early morning evacuation of the Saint-Malo senior residence on the south shore.

Firefighters and police officers worked together to help residents out of the building; some had to be carried out.

The seniors were wrapped up in blankets and given chairs to sit on as their neighbours were evacuated.

The Saint-Malo residence is located just south of the Saint-Lawrence River in Longueuil.

It is a home for autonomous and semi-autonomous seniors.
