EDMONTON – An Edmonton radio station says a former top official with the Alberta Motor Association has been jailed for two years for defrauding the organization of more than a quarter of a million dollars.
The report (on CHED) says Robert William Allen pleaded guilty last week to 24 charges after an agreed statement of facts was read in court.

He was also ordered to pay back $160,000 to the association.
Allen was the appraisal supervisor for the AMA’s northern Alberta region between 2006 and the spring of last year.
Court heard he defrauded the AMA out of two dozen vehicles that had been stolen and then recovered.
The owners were paid out and Allen illegally gained access to the vehicles to sell them for a profit of $276,000. (CHED)
