Manitoba girl, 4 apparently shot and injured by five-year-old brother: police

DELORAINE, Man. – Police in Manitoba say a four-year-old girl has been shot, apparently after her five-year-old brother got a hold of a firearm.

Police say the shooting occurred on Saturday in a home in the Rural Municipality of Whitewater, south of Brandon.

Police say the girl was transported to hospital in Winnipeg where she is reported to be in stable condition.

Police investigators are at the scene of the shooting, but no further information is being released at the moment.

The shooting comes three weeks after a nine-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed by his 14-year-old brother on the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba.
