HALIFAX- Constable Derek Fish, a member of the Halifax Regional Police has been charged with assault in relation to an August arrest.
Today, Nova Scotia’s independent Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) charged Cst. Fish, 45, with assault in relation to the arrest of a 34-year-old male August 22, 2014 at the Dairy Queen on Dutch Village Road in Halifax for theft from another store.

The male filed a complain against Cst. Fish in September of 2014. The matter was subsequently referred to SiRT for investigation.
Cst. Fish will appear in court March 23.
