Pedestrian in Halifax hit by cyclist sustains life threatening injuries

HALIFAX – Police say a woman is recovering in hospital from serious injuries after she was hit by a cyclist as she tried to cross a street in downtown Halifax.

The 56-year-old has just stepped from the curb on Windsor Street when she was struck at around 7:30 p-m.

Police say she fell and hit her head on the pavement.

Her injuries are described as life threatening.

A 49-year-old male cyclist faces numerous charges under the Motor Vehicle Act.
