Surrey RCMP are attributing the drop in property crime rates in the city to a project targeting repeat offenders.
Crime analysts have been focusing on identifying and cracking down on a few chronic offenders.
Police say they are responsible for a large share of crimes like car theft, break and enters and mail theft around the Lower Mainland.

The operation against those repeat offenders was launched last fall.
It’s now being credited for a 18 per cent drop in property crime during the last quarter of 2015.
