Two cases of Dutch elm disease have been confirmed in the queen city – one on Regina Avenue and one in Grey Street.
The city has already removed the two affected trees due to the risk they posed to other trees in the area.

Dutch elm disease is a fungal infection carried by elm bark beetles. Trees can become infected especially when being pruned.
The city is reminding residents that it is “illegal” to prune between April 1st and August 31st
