A report of shots being fired behind a high school on a Saskatchewan reserve turned out to be a false alarm.
At around 12:45 p.m. CT Wednesday, police were called to a report of shots being fired behind the high school on the Big River First Nation.

RCMP contacted the local elementary school and high school so safety protocols could be initiated.

Upon further investigation, officers determined there were no gunshots and instead a firework had been set off in the vicinity of the high school. No charges will be laid.
The schools were advised and their safety protocols were removed.
No injuries were reported.
