After closing down for more than one year, the seawall at Winnipeg Beach is reopening to the public Friday afternoon.
The main beach closed last spring after it was heavily damaged by a storm, but repairs and improvements in the area are nearly complete.

Last summer the Manitoba government invested $5 million to rebuild the boardwalk and seawall.
Some areas along the beach are still not open as more work is needed to add sod and grass.

Construction on the north beach is also still happening, but it is expected to be complete later this summer.
The main beach officially reopens at 3 p.m. Friday.
