QUEBEC – A 13th person has died from legionnaires’ disease in Quebec City, while authorities are confident that the outbreak has been brought under control.
The person fell ill on Aug. 29 – the last date on which any new case was reported.

Public-health authorities say the situation should stabilize because they have disinfected the cooling systems in more than 100 buildings.

The outbreak has led to 177 recorded cases of the illness, the last being two weeks ago.
An investigation is looking into the specific source, or sources, of the outbreak. The findings are not expected before mid-October.
