Police have charged a man in Saskatoon’s eighth homicide of 2016.

On June 18, an man was found injured in the 300-block of Avenue E South.

He was taken to hospital where he died from his injury.

An autopsy confirmed the death as a homicide.

A 28-year-old man is now facing charges of second-degree murder, possession of a weapon for committing an offence and two counts of breach of undertakings.

His name has not been released by police.

He is scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon in Saskatoon provincial court.

Police said surveillance footage provided by businesses in the area helped with their investigation.
