Operation Hang up and Buckle Up results in more than 150 tickets

Police and SGI teamed up for a province wide blitz where police handed out more than 150 tickets last week 

They were specifically looking drivers not wearing seatbelts and using cell phones while driving.

They issued 58 tickets for improper or non-seatbelt use, 35 tickets for using a cellphone while driving and 35 tickets for speeding. 

Enforcement efforts were impacted by poor weather in some parts of the province. 

Last month’s coordinated traffic blitz, Operation fall frenzy saw police issue 1,079 tickets.
