Elderly London woman pulled from apartment fire dies of injuries

London Police have confirmed the elderly woman injured in an apartment fire over the weekend has died.

Officers say the 76-year-old who was pulled from the unit at 744 Fanshawe Park Rd. E. on Saturday evening was initially transported to London Health Sciences Centre for treatment.

She was later taken to Hamilton General Hospital, but was then pronounced dead.

Her name has not been released at this time and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Officers say while the Ontario Fire Marshal continues to investigate the case, they do not believe the blaze is suspicious.
