Not a bad consolation prize.
A Binbrook, Ont. man has won $256,243.80 in the September 2 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Before dropping his twin sons off at school, Richard Walker says he made a quick stop to check his lottery tickets and used $10 from a previous win to purchase new Lotto 6/49 tickets.
“That ended up being the best $10 I have ever spent!”
“When I took the ticket to a store scanner, there it was, ‘Big Winner!’ I couldn’t believe how much I had won,” said Walker, who claimed his windfall in Toronto. “My kids know about my win, but my wife is about to get the surprise of her life!”
