West Vancouver police say they’re trying to locate a suspect after an apparent assault involving pepper spray.
It happened at the 13th Street entrance to Ambleside Park Tuesday just after 9:30 p.m.
Officials say a woman parked her vehicle and was about to go for a run when a second woman came up to her car, holding a flashlight, and started to take photos of the runner’s vehicle and license plate.

When the runner questioned the woman, a confrontation ensued, and the suspect then pepper sprayed the woman.
The suspect then walked away eastbound on the Spirit Trail.

Police say the suspect is described as an elderly woman, about 5 ft 4″, wearing a black puffy jacket and walking a dog.
The victim was treated at the scene.
