A passenger who was not wearing his seat belt is now facing weapons charges after a traffic stop by a Saskatoon police officer.
The traffic unit member pulled the vehicle over for the seat belt infraction at roughly 11:15 a.m. CT on June 22 at the intersection of Avenue T South and 22nd Street West.
Police said a gun was spotted by the officer in the backseat as he approached the vehicle.

The officer then searched a backpack the passenger had, finding two knives, a large metal bar, a three-foot chain with a large metal pin on the end, and a hatchet.
The 28-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a concealed weapon.
