According to Napanee OPP, the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 going through Napanee will be closed due to an early morning collision on Thursday.
The road closure will begin at 9 p.m., and both eastbound lanes of Highway 401 will closed between Palace Road in Napanee and County Road 4 in Loyalist Township for several hours while cranes are set up to recover the pieces of the truck from the ditch.
OPP have released a detour route.
- Eastbound 401 traffic will be directed off the highway at Palace Road in Napanee
- Cars will travel south on Palace Road to County Road 2
- Then east on County Rd 2 to County Road 4 (roundabout)
- And finally north on County Road 4 to rejoin 401 eastbound

One lane along the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 has reopened after a collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle. The crash happened near Palace Road in Napanee around 4:30 a.m. Police haven’t released any details in regards to how the collision happened. The crash resulted in the transport truck landing in the ditch. OPP say there are only minor injuries.

The OPP are advising motorists to stay on the highway as secondary roads are under construction and there are no quicker routes available.
