OPP say they seized cocaine and a prohibited firearm and arrested two people Monday as part of a drug trafficking investigation in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Around 4:30 p.m., officers with the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton) stopped traffic on Highway 115 in both directions to facilitate the arrest of two individuals in a vehicle.
Jacquille Beckford-Green, 23, of Ajax, and Osahon Osaigbovo, 23, of Etobicoke, are each charged with:

- possession of cocaine for trafficking
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- improperly transporting a firearm or restricted weapon
- possession of a firearm with a tampered the serial number
- being in a vehicle with a firearm
Both accused are scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay on Tuesday.
Kawartha Lakes OPP received assistance from the OPP’s Tactical Response Unit, Physical Surveillance Unit, Emergency Response Unit (ERT), K-9 Unit and the Peterborough-Northumberland Street Crime Unit.
