Westside Road back to #1 worst in province

WEST KELOWNA, BC – Voters have chosen Westside Road as the worst in the province in a poll by BCAA.

The windy road along the west shore of Okanagan Lake between West Kelowna and Vernon was in second until this weekend when more votes gave the route a boost on the worst in the province list.

Another accident on the route had residents begging for the government to do more to make the route safer.

A woman was taken to hospital following a three car crash on Westside Road, about 400m from the Highway 97 interchange in West Kelowna.

The accident happened around noon Sunday near West Point Trailer Park.

A car was attempting a turn left into the trailer park when it was struck from behind by a truck trying to pass on the right. The impact drove the car into on-coming traffic.

Injuries are said to be not life threatening.

Westside Road traffic was stopped while crews removed the cars from the scene.

The route has made top of the worst roads in the province as voted on at BCAA’s website for two years in a row.
