Man bikes across Canada to raise awareness for organ donation

After watching his close family friend die while awaiting a heart transplant, Cayse Riuter decided to do something dramatic to raise awareness about the need for organ donation.

This week, he started on a solo 8,000-kilometre bike ride across Canada.

While 85 per cent of British Columbians say they support organ donation, only 18 per cent are actually registered.

More than 450 people in this province are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.
