Waterloo Regional Police say a man has been transported to an out-of-region hospital after being struck by a transport truck in Kitchener on Tuesday morning.
Police say officers were called to the scene of the collision on Courtland Avenue between Hillmount Drive and Hayward Avenue at around 6:45 a.m.
At around lunchtime, police said that the 59-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit by the truck, which was headed north on Courtland Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to Hamilton General Hospital, with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 55-year-old truck driver was not injured as a result of the collision.
Police say charges are pending as a result of the collision.
