SASKATOON – Soil contamination has been found along the Saskatoon riverbank where slumping issues surfaced last spring.
The contaminated soil was found on the slope along Saskatchewan Crescent near 17th Street where crews are working on remediation.

Tests came back positive for hydrocarbons and metals.
Officials believe it may have been caused by garbage dumped in the area decades ago.
The soil has been excavated and removed.
City officials say residents are not in danger but recommend the site be avoided.
