TORONTO – John Tory is heading into the final stretch of the Toronto mayoral race with a 14-point cushion over his nearest rival Doug Ford, according to a new poll.
A survey conducted by Forum Research for the Toronto Star has Tory with 43 per cent support among voters compared to 29 per cent for Ford and Olivia Chow in third place at 25 per cent.

The poll, conducted on Monday night among 852 residents, had 3 per cent supporting “other”‘ candidates.
The results mean a four percentage point drop for Ford who had 33 per cent support in last week’s Forum poll.
The poll was released a day after all top three mayoral contenders took part in a heated debate Wednesday night in Scarborough.

Transit, jobs, and infrastructure were the top issues of the evening with Ford having to once again address his brother’s scandals.
Voters head to the polls Oct. 27.
The Forum Research poll was conducted by interactive voice response telephone call with a margin of error of +/- 3 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
