MONTREAL – A 70-year-old man who was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Villeray, has died of his injuries.
The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The man was attempting to cross Christophe-Colomb Avenue from east to west, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Police said the man crossed between two intersections.
He was taken to hospital with severe head injuries and passed away overnight.

The 31-year-old driver of the car was not injured in the collision.
Christophe-Colomb Avenue was closed for several hours between Everett Jean-Talon streets as investigators tried to determine what led to the collision. It has since reopened.
Manuel Couture, spokesperson for Montreal police, told Global News that speed and alcohol do not seem to have been factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
