RCMP said a 21-year-old Conklin man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of Tyler David McDermid in August 2015.
Last year, Mounties said McDermid was shot dead in a Conklin home and that they believed the shooting was not a random act.

Trevor Powder was arrested on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance via CCTV in Fort McMurray on July 25.

Conklin is about a four-hour drive northeast of Edmonton.
