PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Saskatchewan’s parks ministry says it will offer a refund after a man tried repeatedly to reserve a campsite online, and then was charged almost five-thousand dollars on his credit card.

Jamey Person says he hoped to buy a 58-day pass at Candle Lake through the Reserve-A-Site system last week, but he says he couldn’t get confirmation and was kicked off the site as soon as he paid.

He eventually got the reservation, but each attempt cost him money.
A spokesperson for the ministry has blamed the online issues on a high demand.
