MLA Peter Milobar announced on Friday that he is leaving the BC Conservative Party and will sit as an Independent.
In a statement, Milobar said that since 2017, he has been entrusted by the residents of Kamloops and the surrounding area to be their voice in Victoria.
“I completely respect the vote of the membership, and that Kerry-Lynne Findlay has earned the right as leader to shape the party as she sees fit,” he said.

“It has, however, become clear to me over the last few months that my values don’t align with this new direction.”
Milobar said he will now be sitting as an Independent in the legislature.
“What matters most to me hasn’t changed — serving the people of Kamloops Centre,” he added.
“I’ll have more to say about the road ahead in the days to come.”

Milobar ran for leader of the BC Conservative Party along with Findlay, Iain Black, Caroline Elliott and Yuri Fulmer.
This so called center right party is just a left wing branch of the NDP.
Dear Peter:
Congratulations on your move from the Conservative Party of B.C. to sitting as a Independent. This takes great confidence and strength and I admire you for taking this direction. Personally, I have no faith in the Conservative Party or the newly elected leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay who remains missing in action.
ANOTHER RAT JUMPING OVER TO LIBS, BOUGHT OUT BY OUR HERO CARNEY UNDER THE TABLE DEALS ! AGAIN ! INDEPENDENT MY AS S EXCUSES ! JUST WATCH
Need a election before Eby gives all are land and houses away.
These conservatives need to shelve their ego for the good of the province
Her le comes the start of a new Centre Right party that should have happened last year in order to prepare for the election and get name recognition.
I think he is a sore loser. I also think he did not like Kerry wanting street names in english. I also think he did not like Kerry having lunch with Dallas Brodie last week. And if he did not like it. It probably is his familial ties that did not like it. Now off to visit Roderick Haig Brown provincial park.
Mr.Milobar was actually fired…he didn’t quit on his own. Once his fellow coworkers watched him tie his own shoes and make his own lunch….they got sick of him ” showing off” and let him go.!
Phone Eby…he’ll probably take you?! If you can walk and chew gum at the same time….the Conservative Party is NOT for you!!!
Best wishes Peter
Peter I don’t blame you one bit for leaving, I still support you 100%, good on you and good luck in your future going forward, I believe the party is going to sink with the new leader of the Conservative Party, way way to far to the right for me!!!!
Guess maybe he did not like kerry wanting ENGLISH only signs or that she went for lunch with Dallas Brodie. Or maybe his wife and family was giving him the gears with their indian status
Now Keith Baldrey will be on the 6 o’clock news saying how all split up they are. never talks about his useless NDP.
Meh, as long as he was planning to repeal DRIPA I don’t care. He was a liberal before he pretended to be conservative.
What’s really funny is that even a guy married to a FN, and who was liberal party member can see how bad DRIPA is for BC is willing to repeal it.
Even he 100% knew that repealing it as election platform was a sure fire way to get reflected.
Now that’s funny!!
He’s like a rat jumping from a sinking ship. Too funny 🤣🤣
