Quebec’s police watchdog is investigating after a police-involved shooting in Montreal Wednesday afternoon.
The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI) said in news release officers were called to a home around 3:23 p.m. for reports a person armed with a knife.

Officers arrived at 3:28 p.m. and an altercation followed; police reportedly shot at the person who was injured. They were taken to hospital where they are in stable condition.

Six investigators have been assigned to probe the matter.
Both the police investigation and the BEI’s probe are ongoing.
