Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc says that while Canada isn’t currently in official trade negotiations with the U.S., officials on both sides are still talking.
LeBlanc is in Banff, Alta, for the two-day Liberal cabinet retreat, where the ongoing trade war with the United States is a key topic.
He says he has no meetings in Washington scheduled but he has spoken several times with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and sometimes speaks with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick as well.
LeBlanc says it’s important to be ready for a possible deal that respects Canadian sovereignty and is the country’s national interest.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed new orders to ban imports of some Canadian products, including most alcohol, and increase tariffs on some others on Tuesday after Canada imposed retaliatory duties on the United States.
That happened after trade talks reached an impasse in August, which led to Trump imposing 50 per cent tariffs on nearly $28 billion worth of Canadian goods ranging from honey and sunscreen to sports equipment and milk.
By talking he means idiot premiers putting up boo-boo signs.
Carney is a sneak and a liar. He knew. Well in advance that he was going to walk away. Why you ask, so he could pursue his friendship with the commies and get tips on how to turn our country into theirs. He figured that because he was dealing with Trump, his liberal base would be busy “rejoicing in the streets” and not care what damage he caused to our country. Communism destroys and as you can see, the hard times and despair have already begun.
FFF**CCCKK YYOOUU LERETARD!
Ok good, tell Trump he left his huge dildo at my house last time I fucked his miserable ass.
Lieberals are at their favorite pastime, talk, talk, talk and more talk, never ever do anything except more money for Ukraine or some other unheard of island.
Lots of movement, no action. Is this Trudeau’s Party. If you’re not at the negotiation table, you’re not making any progress. This is a CYA statement from the finance minister.. but it is unsuccessful in reducing anxiety
lol sounds about right
Considering we’re the only province left with a “defiant” premier, why are they here where they’re the least wanted?
This article really is just a rehash of what everyone knows already. P.S Will move to Mexico lol

Meanwhile Mexico continues to negotiate, grow their trade and take advantage of Canada’s inability to do so. The peso is strong, the Canadian dollar is weak. Inflation is lower in Mexico. They are the largest trading partner with the US. Have been since they beat Canada out in 2023.
The LPC version of Canada. Weak
And yet the media are busy whipping up the fear and hate.
