Vancouver-South Granville is a provincial riding located in the Metro Vancouver, Vancouver region. This riding is currently represented by NDP MLA Brenda Bailey, who first took office in 2020. Bailey collected 17,208 votes, winning 64.31 per cent of the vote in the 2024 B.C. provincial election.
In September, Bailey announced she will not be running again in the upcoming election.
Bailey was most recently the province’s minister of jobs, economic development and innovation.
In August, Bailey announced she was diagnosed with early-stage treatable cancer and underwent surgery.
She is now cancer-free but said she wanted to focus on getting well and getting stronger.
Bailey joined Ravi Kahlon, Lana Popham and Kelly Greene, who previously announced they would not be seeking re-election.
Just two years after the previous election, B.C. residents have cast their vote in the 2026 provincial election.
BC NDP leader David Eby called a snap election in September, making the provincial election day one week after the municipal elections.
Voters will elect 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly to serve in the 44th B.C. Parliament.
B.C. has 93 seats and 47 are needed for a majority.
Doesn’t it tell you their Chinese names? How is anybody supposed to know who to vote for if the names aren’t in Chinese? This is crazy. How do they expect us to do anything here?
Keep seeing Colin Smith of Centre BC around the district. He’ll be walking the seawall with his family throughout the day tomorrow and at Kits House from 4pm onwards.
