Teen’s death in northern Sask. called suspicious

PELICAN NARROWS, Sask. – RCMP say the death of a teenager in northern Saskatchewan is considered suspicious. On Saturday, Mounties said they were called to a disturbance at a residence on the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation around 6:30 a.m.

A 17-year-old man in need of medical assistance was found.

He was taken by police to the Angelique Canada Health Centre in Pelican Narrows, Sask. and pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and is being assisted by the RCMP’s major crime unit and forensic identification section.
