CALGARY – A ski and snowboard resort in Banff will offer visitors a chance to ride on the first chairlift in Canada with heated seats.
Officials from Sunshine Village say the Teepee Town LX lift, located on Lookout Mountain, will be ready in time for the 2015-16 ski season.

Along with the opportunity to keep your posterior piping, the fancy chairlift also has footrests and orange-coloured covers.
It will move as many as 1,200 skiers and riders up the mountain each hour at a speed of 5.08 metres per second.

The resort said in a news release that mitigation techniques were used throughout construction of the lift to minimize the impact on vegetation and wildlife in the area.
The tentative opening date for the 2015-16 ski season at Sunshine Village is Nov. 11.
