CALGARY – One man was rushed to hospital on Thursday following a serious collision on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Calgary.
The collision happened on Highway 1 just west of Range Road 33, near Calaway Park.

RCMP said a westbound pickup truck rear-ended a car that was parked on the side of the road.
The driver of the car was transported to the Foothills Medical Centre in life-threatening condition.

A female passenger from the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the truck was examined at the scene by EMS.
The collision caused the closure of one westbound lane of Highway 1.
