Three-hundred square feet doesn’t sound like a lot of space but it’s plenty for some Kelowna residents who are scooping-up so-called micro suites almost as soon as they hit the market. And the housing market is also trending towards the small living concept.
Suites at Cambridge House, under construction at Ethel St. And Harvey Avenue are as small as 310 square feet.

It’s one of a handful of developments adapting the small is smart approach — already common in larger cities.
“This is a brand new concept here for Kelowna and we brought in that concept and obviously with the sales that we’ve had it’s just as popular in Kelowna as it is in larger cities,” said spokesman, Rob Hager.

Prices at Cambridge start at $94,000 and nearly sold out in one day.
“We sold 172 of the 192 suites in the building,” Hager said.
Half were bought by residents who will actually live in the suites while the other half was scooped up by investors who hope their investment into something small will produce big bucks.
