Police in York Region say they are looking for witnesses after a body was found in a ravine northwest of Toronto Thursday afternoon.
York Regional Police said they were called to Nashville Road, west of Highway 27, in Vaughan, Ont. at around 3:30 p.m. with a report that a body was located at the side of the road.
Police said initial findings indicate the body is believed to be an adult woman of Middle Eastern decent.
Law enforcement officials said they are appealing for anyone who was in the area between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 to come forward.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
Nashville Road remains closed in both directions from Stevenson Avenue to Highway 27.
