A 48-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after police said she was stabbed in the face by a man wielding a machete in Scarborough Thursday.
Toronto police said officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 4:45 p.m. at Ellesmere and Markham roads.
Paramedics said a 48-year-old woman was taken to hospital with severe slash wounds all over her body. Police say the injuries are non-life threatening.

The male suspect reportedly fled the scene in a brown van.
Police said Friday a 48-year-old man surrendered at about 5 p.m. He is facing five charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
