Strathcona County RCMP and ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit arrested and charged a Sherwood Park man with child pornography offences last week.
The investigation started in August 2017, when the RCMP’s National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children passed along information about “a Canadian using a social media account to upload and distribute child pornography,” RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

A search warrant was executed at a Sherwood Park home on March 6 and a number of computers and electronic devices were seized. They will be thoroughly examined to collect additional evidence.
Aljon Pasuquin, 21, was arrested without incident and charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 13.
“While the investigation and charges are related to online offences, Strathcona County RCMP are encouraging anyone with information about this case to come forward and contact police,” RCMP said.
